FUTURE
EA+CONNECT
Connected instrument

We have created an extraordinary multimedia project that we are passionate about and which has stood out at several festivals and events.
We are asking for your help to help us evolve our project which is now entering a whole new phase, offering spectacular new possibilities during live performances.
The concept
PAINTING MUSIC
Electro-Acrylic, these are immersive electro-acoustic performances combining organic and digital visual art with audiovisual capture and creation in real time. When several art forms come together in intense creative osmosis, the result is a unique experience, a live artistic performance that leaves no one indifferent.
Approach
RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LOW-TECH
AND HIGH-TECH
We are moving inexorably into a “Hi-tech” world for, in large part, good reasons. Alongside this, there is a movement, an awareness, a reaction, a desire to return to a more “Low-tech” approach to our environment and our daily lives. Are “Hi-tech” and “Low-tech” two ways of understanding our way of living? Should you choose a side?
This performance attempts to demonstrate that not only can these two universes co-exist, but they can merge into a movement enriched by each other by decompartmentalizing each other through this physical and creative interrelation. Electro-Acrylic is the experience and observation of the relationship between the low tech of painting and the hi-tech of audiovisual immersiveness.
Immersive experience
TRAVELING IN THE WORK
The performance allows the viewer to immerse themselves in the very heart of the creative process as if they were in the heads of the artists, literally traveling through the layers of paint and absorbing the sounds, rhythms and graphic volumes of the video .
The new phase: EA-3.0
The “Board 3.0”
THE CANVAS IS AN INSTRUMENT
Since the beginning of the Electro-Acrylic project, the canvas has been at the heart of the concept. She is responsive. She captures pictorial impulses and retransmits them into sounds. Over the years, this canvas has evolved into a real platform full of sensors.
Here it is now entering its third evolution: “Board 3.0” The canvas has become a three-dimensional audio-video sensor-controller. This step is at the preliminary prototyping stage and is already offering promising results.
The digital converter 1.0
FROM LOW-TECH TO HIGH TECH
After having manufactured the “Board 3.0”, the physical platform that constitutes the canvas-controller, we must now create and program the digital interface which will convert the analog information from the canvas and transmit it digitally to the visual and sound designers. It is thanks to the expertise of Marlène Grégoire and the technical support of Fred Trétout that this stage is possible.
The challenges and needs of phase 3.0
TOWARDS A “PLUG’N’PLAY” CONCEPT
Up until now, stage editing has always been a problem. Due to the lack of a complete and compact system, specially designed for the Electro-Acrylic project, Fred Laurier and Fred Trétout have always had to deal with their own equipment which they use for other professional purposes. They therefore have to reassemble the entire system each time, which takes too much time on the stage installation. For the installation to be closer to a "Plug'n'play" concept, it would be necessary to build two dedicated modular consoles, one audio and one video.
Consolidating the Electro-Acrylic project with equipment mentioned above, developed and optimized for this 3rd phase, will make it possible to offer the broadcaster and the public a more efficient show, whether for its implementation or for the artistic performance as a as such. In order to continue the development and consolidate the Electro-Acrylic concept for its new phase and to be able to give high quality stage performances, we are missing crucial elements.
Here you will find the complete project files as well as the challenges and needs for Phase EA-3.0
